Part 1 - Day 1 - CAPE TOWN •

| After your arrival at the aipport we catch the first glimpses of Cape Town and take you to settle into the guest house in the City Bowl, take time to refresh and build the bikes. In the afternoon we crank up some routes on Table Mountain, awsome downhills. In the evening we go to a traditional African restaurant for an evening feast |

Day 2 - CAPE TOWN •

| Ride some excellent single track amoung fynbos bushes and resident baboons in the Tokai Forest on the Cape Peninsula near Constantia. There are great single track switchbacks, technical downhills and some good climbing up above the clouds. Take time out to do some sightseeing in Cape Town in the afternoon. In the evening we relax at the V&A Waterfront, and eat a seafood dinner |

Day 3 - WELLINGTON •

| After a good breakfast in the guesthouse we head out of Cape Town on some back roads through the winelands of Durbanville. The riding is on tar and gravel roads, mainly slightly hilly today. In the evening have a rest around the pool, and taste some South African local wine |

Day 4 - RAWSONVILLE •

| We start cycling at our guesthouse and head for Bains Kloof, one of the famous passes built in South Africa by Thomas Bains. There is little traffic on this quiet road, where at the summit we have a good view of Wellington and Paarl. The fun starts with the downhill towards the Slanghoek valley, a landscape of wine fields. In the evening we can appreciate the night stars and enjoy a traditional barbeque - locally called a braai… |

Day 5 - MONTAGU •

| We transfer to Touws Rivier and take a gravel road back towards the Roohoogte Pass. After the stunning downhill, we turn off road and cycle 10km along a 4x4 track to Simonskloof farm. This is run by a Swiss outbacker, who has walking trails and mtb trails in the mountains. Either swim in the farm dam or tackle some more routes on the farm. We have no electricity here, so it is cooking around the campfire for us |

Day 6 - CARLITZDORP •
(rest day - sightseeing - no cycling) - B&B&D |

| Today we take a break from cycling and transfer along the famous Route 62, the alternative Garden Route, where we head further into the semi desert Karoo area. Along the way we stop at Ronnie`s sex shop, a famous drink spot, and have a lunch in an arty Karoo town. Our evening rest place is an old Victorian farm run by a charming couple, who have a fully proficient working farm, with ostriches and home grown produce. They will prepare a fine home cooked meal |

Day 7 - PRINCE ALBERT •

| This is the toughest cycling day, but it will be the most spectacular with great views of the Karoo. We cycle from the farm after eating a good ostrich omelette for breakfast. The downhill towards Prince Albert promises some of the best mountain biking in South Africa |

Day 8 - DE RUST •

| Today we have a rest day, we shall visit a ostrich farm in the area and Oudtshoorn, and also the spectacular Cango Caves. In the evening we can chill out the legs around the pool, ready for some more cycling tomorrow |

Day 9 - GEORGE •

| We head off from our accommodation and cycle down the old Outenique pass road. This takes us back to the coast and to the town of Goerge. Here we take a quick swin in the Indian Ocean, nice warm waters await us |

Part 2-Day 10 - DINOKENG Game Reserve •

| Today we catch the plane to Johannesburg. Airport shuttle from Tambo to De Rust Caravan Park in the DINOKENG Nature Reserve near Pretoria. Unpack, settle in and then go for a hike through the Game Reserve. Check bikes and insure that they are mechanically sound. Check camelbacks and insure that all the right supplements, tools and gear are packed |

Day 11 - DINOKENG Game Reserve •

| Awake early and have coffee and rusks. Head off on a 30km flat and easy mountain bike ride through the Dinokeng Nature Reserve. We will focus on acclimatizing and game viewing on this ride. Terrain will be quite flat and consists of singletrack and jeep track. We will stop for photographs and at water holes. Head back to De Rust Caravan Park for a hearty breakfast and a swim. Chill around the pool, relax. Buffet lunch will be on offer. Technical skills development course after lunch. At 15:00 we will get back onto the bikes and cycle to the evening's accommodation (10km.) Camping equipment will be shuttled to the evening camp |

Day 12 - DINOKENG Game Reserve •

| Awake early and cycle 30km to Mongena Game Ranch for breakfast. After breakfast we will embark on a boat cruise on the lake in style! After the boat cruise we will cycle about 15km to Xombana campsite where we will be spending the evening. The cycle will consist of singletrack, jeep road and river crossings. Rhino's, hippos and crocodiles are but a few animals that are often spotted in this part of the reserve. Optional activities will be on offer for the day that will include a game drive, archery or hunting |

Day 13 - DINOKENG Game Reserve •

| Awake early and have breakfast. We will cycle 50km today. We will be cycling in the Dinokeng game reserve and then heading along municipal roads till we get to Montle Metse River camp. Setup the tents for the evening and do a bit of fishing. There will be a river cruise in the evening or a guided cycle through the reserve. Animals that might be encountered today are rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, buffalo and many more |

Day 14 - DINOKENG Game Reserve •

| Awake early and have breakfast. We will cycle a distance of between 50 and 70km today. Once we have packed up the camp we will cycle around Rust de Winter dam. The scenery is spectacular but the cycling will be tough today. Crazy hills and lots of rocks. We will stop for a picnic lunch along the way and then head on to Zenzele River Camp Backpackers. Our last evening will be spent chatting around the fire and trading digital photographs that have been taken during the trip |
