Some information about Soultouring in Cape Town

Soultouring was founded in 2005 in Cape Town, South Africa. Cape Town is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world and a preferred training destination for local and international cyclists, offering a warmer alternative during the cold winter months in Europe. We often see international and local professional teams training on some of our tour routes. The concept was created after many years of cycling the "Cape Argus race" and following the routes of the "Giro del Capo" professional race. And of course Soulriding's extensive search for new and exciting coastal and mountain pass routes, which are all documented with "GPS" route coordinates. Come and enjoy the sun of South Africa!.

Whether you are a amateur or professional cyclist we can cater for your personal needs. Together with the Sports Institute at Stellenbosch University we can measure your athletic ability and fitness levels , through aerobic tests we can produce a suitable training plan for you. We offer you the expertise of the best cycle shops in town and through our close relationship to the "Cape Argus race" we are always up to date with local cycling news and race events.

Charles Cox

Cedric Jones

Our SOULTOURING tour leader and founder Charles Cox was born in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1965. He has travelled extensively around the world experiencing many different people and cultures. His appreciation of good restaurants and soulful spots has given him the ideal background for planning the concept of your Soultouring holiday. He has worked as a sportswear designer in Italy, Germany, and Hong Kong, and has created a concept for an active cycle holiday in his home country South Africa, combining sport with leisure. His location choice, Cape Town, being the most cosmopolitan city of the Western Cape. His experience of cycling ranging from road racing on the dusty mountain passes of Italy to amateur race meetings in Germany, not forgetting the fun of mountain biking in the forest regions of Hong Kong island, or even his favourite 10km single track downhill in the 'Lebanon trails' in Grabouw, Western Cape back home.

Cedric is a co founder of Soultouring Tours. He's always been interested in nature and wildlife. As a typical South African he loves the outdoors and has a true passion for Africa. After working in Engineering for many years, Cedric decided to change his career completely and to go into tourism. His first business venture started in Arusha, Tanzania, where he ran exclusive walking safaris from 1998-1999. He returned to South Africa and expanded his knowledge and skills by guiding countless safaris and special interests tours for international tourists in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, Zambia and Malawi. Over the past few years he got more and more involved in day and short tours in Cape Town and has also specialised in wine tours. Cedric is a registered FGASA Field Guide and a certificate holder of the Cape Wine Academy

Charles and his team are used to having guests from Germany, Switzerland, Italy and England. We have had guests from Canada, America and many other countries.
